Incoming Vodafone Ghana CEO calls on NCA

The incoming Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vodafone Ghana Limited, Mrs Patricia Obo-Nai on Monday, March 18, 2019, paid a courtesy call on the Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Mr. Joe Anokye, at the NCA Tower in Accra. The purpose of the visit was to introduce herself to the Authority before assuming office on April 1, 2019.

Accompanying Mrs. Obo-Nai, Mr Gayheart Mensah, External Affairs Director at Vodafone Ghana said this is the first time Vodafone has had a Ghanaian CEO and a woman for that matter. He added that Mrs. Obo-Nai who has been in the industry for almost 2 decades and with Vodafone for about 8 years, has gained a lot of experience from all departments of the company and hence, comes in with great passion and bright ideas.

Mrs. Patricia Obo-Nai in her remarks expressed her delight to work with the NCA and added that she is committed to ensuring Vodafone Ghana remains consistent in adhering to its regulatory requirements.

On his part, Mr.  Joe Anokye said the NCA has had a good relationship with Vodafone over the years. He further touched on a few areas of concern within the industry including Quality of Service and said he was expectant that with the in-coming CEO’s technical competencies, these issues would be addressed in the quest to make user experience better.

On behalf of the NCA, Mr. Anokye congratulated Mrs. Obo-Nai on her appointment and also took the opportunity to congratulate Vodafone ahead of the launch of its 4G.
