United States of America: Commercial Real Estate Trade to hire women and minority suppliers

Seven commercial real estate trade associations have decided to assist Commercial Real Estate (CRE) companies owned and managed by women and the minority.

The Commercial Real Estate Diverse Supplier (CREDS) Consortium is hopeful to provide a helping hand to real estate companies that wish to diversify their optional spending on consultants, contractors, joint venture partners vendors, and other stakeholders.

The Commercial real estate trade associations to engage in this partnership include International Council of Shipping Centers (ICSC), CREW Network, Mortgage Bankers Association, the commercial real estate development association NAIOP, the real estate development trust group Nareit, the national multifamily housing council, and the real estate roundtable constitute the consortium members.

A two-year pilot program has been launched by the CREDS Consortium together with SupplierGATEWAY, a supplier management software platform to identify members, track, report and engage with minority and women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs).

“ICSC is committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the marketplaces industry, and giving our members ways to identify and source MWBEs is one way we can do this,” said ICSC President and CEO Tom McGee.

“The CREDS Consortium helps meet the growing demand for diversity in service providers and offers our members direct access to the tools and resources they need to support their own DEI goals”.
