Nigeria: Glovo brings ‘The Couriers Pledge’ to Nigeria, prioritizing safety

Glovo, a prominent multi-category app in Africa, introduces ‘The Couriers Pledge’ in Nigeria, a company commitment to enhance social rights and benefits for couriers, regardless of their employment or work status with the company.

The Couriers Pledge initiative, has yielded positive results since it was launched.

General Manager for Glovo Nigeria, Lamide Akinola, expressed her pride in achieving the milestone, stating, “We believe that couriers deserve equal access to social rights and benefits, regardless of their contractual relationship with the platform. The successful launch of The Couriers Pledge in Nigeria represents a significant step towards creating a fairer working environment for our couriers in the region. We are proud to have all African markets covered under this initiative.”

Regarding the introduction of the Courier’s Pledge in Nigeria, the General Manager of the Lagos State Drivers Institute (LASDRI), Bolanle Tiamiyu praised Glovo for its dedication to improving the rights and benefits of couriers who hold a crucial role in the local service delivery network.
