Kenya: Isuzu East Africa now manages UD Trucks operations

Isuzu East Africa secures distributorship rights for assembling and selling UD Trucks in Kenya.

Speaking at a media event held at its Nairobi premises, Isuzu East Africa’s Managing Director, Rita Kavashe, said that the company was delighted to add the UD Trucks brand to its portfolio.

“We understand commercial vehicles and their applications being a key player in the industry. Isuzu East Africa is also an automotive distributor in the region and has been the overall market leader for 12 consecutive years,” she explained.

Rita further observed that the UD Trucks brand is well respected in Kenya, with its various model lines affectionately referred to as ‘Ndovu’ for CW 450 and ‘Nyati’ for PKB, symbolizing their robustness and durability.

Mourad Hedna, President of UD Trucks MEENA (Middle East, East and North Africa Region), voiced confidence in Isuzu East Africa’s capability to offer support to UD Trucks customers.

“I am confident that with our Japanese Brand heritage, our latest Euro 5 Range covering from 10 to 80 Tonnes, and the dedication and expertise of Isuzu East Africa, we will have one of the most competitive offers for our customers in Kenya bringing back our strong and long legacy,” Mourad added.

Isuzu East Africa’s Chairman, Hiroshi Hisatomi, emphasized that the partnership with UD Trucks reflects their commitment to nurturing strong customer relationships developed over the years.

Isuzu East Africa is gearing up to assemble the heavy-duty Quester and the medium duty Croner for sale in Kenya, with the official sales launch scheduled in the second half of 2024.

Immediate after sales support will be extended to existing UD Trucks customers to ensure a seamless ownership experience for UD Trucks customers.

This partnership combines the comprehensive and contemporary UD Trucks range with the extensive local expertise in the trucking business.
