Kenya: Longhorn Publishers Plc ventures into digital content provision

Longhorn Publishers Plc has formed a strategic alliance aimed at delivering educational materials via its LoHo digital learning platform, marking a significant advancement for content creators in the industry.

The collaboration between Longhorn Publishers and Safaricom has led to the creation of a Digital Learning Platform, facilitating the distribution of learning tablets to approximately 1.5 million students.

In this arrangement, students will gain access to educational resources through LoHo Learning, a new subsidiary of Longhorn Publishers, thereby enhancing their learning experience.

As part of the partnership agreement, Safaricom will be responsible for the assembly of tablets, provision of data connectivity, and offering insurance coverage for potential losses, ensuring a comprehensive solution for learners’ needs.

This initiative follows recent shareholder approval for Longhorn’s establishment of a digital ventures studio in Kenya, showcasing the company’s commitment to innovation and expansion in the digital space.

The LoHo platform offers accessibility through conventional web browsers as well as specially assembled tablets by Safaricom. These LoHo Learning tablets feature internet connectivity with built-in safeguards to restrict access to non-educational content, prioritizing the safety of children using the platform.
