Access Bank Ghana has completed the sale of a 7.44% equity stake on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), marking a significant step in its strategy to deepen local ownership and enhance liquidity in its shares.

The transaction involved the sale of 12,085,318 ordinary shares, representing 7.44% of the bank’s issued shares. Executed on July 15, 2026, the sale was carried out by Access Bank PLC, the bank’s parent company, following the receipt of all required regulatory approvals, including a no-objection from the Bank of Ghana.

The share offering attracted strong interest from pension funds, institutional investors, and high-net-worth individuals, reflecting sustained confidence in Access Bank Ghana’s financial performance and long-term growth prospects.

Speaking on the development, Managing Director of Access Bank Ghana, Pearl Nkrumah, said the transaction aligns with the bank’s strategic objective of increasing local participation in its ownership structure while creating greater value for stakeholders.

“This transaction reflects our continued commitment to deepening local ownership and liquidity in our shares, consistent with our strategic priorities. We remain focused on converting the scale we have built into sustained value for all our stakeholders,” she said.
