Dr. Awele Elumelu appointed board chair of Transcorp Hotels

Transcorp Hotels Plc, a subsidiary of Transcorp Group, has announced the appointment of Dr. Awele Elumelu as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors.

Dr. Elumelu, a medical doctor by training, brings a formidable combination of clinical expertise and elite business acumen to the role. Her medical education is bolstered by executive training from some of the world’s most prestigious institutions, including Harvard Business School, IMD Switzerland, and the London School of Economics.

Beyond her corporate credentials, Dr. Elumelu is widely recognized for her dedication to social impact. She serves as Trustee and Co-Founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, the continent’s leading philanthropy dedicated to empowering a new generation of entrepreneurs. Under her stewardship, the Foundation has been a pivotal force in promoting gender inclusion and has empowered more than 24,000 young Africans with critical seed capital, tailored training, and mentorship.
