Florie Liser appointed Chair of EXIM’s Sub-Saharan Africa Advisory Committee

In a pivotal move bolstering U.S.-Africa economic ties, Florie Liser, President and CEO of the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), has been named Chair of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) Board of Directors’ 2026–27 Sub-Saharan Africa Advisory Committee.

This appointment underscores her unparalleled expertise in fostering trade and investment across the continent, promising to drive strategic initiatives that enhance bilateral opportunities and support sustainable growth.

Visionary Leadership at CCA
As President and CEO of the Corporate Council on Africa, Florie Liser helms the premier U.S. business association dedicated to bridging American and African markets. CCA, a trusted intermediary since its inception, connects a diverse membership—from SMEs to multinationals—across sectors like agribusiness, energy, finance, health, ICT, infrastructure, security, tourism, and trade facilitation. Under her guidance, CCA facilitates essential dialogues with government and business leaders, empowering members to thrive in Africa’s dynamic economies.

Pioneering Trade Policy at USTR
Florie Liser’s extensive tenure at the United States Trade Representative (USTR) solidified her as a cornerstone of international trade strategy. As Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Africa, she spearheaded policies for 49 sub-Saharan nations, overseeing the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) to expand market access and investment. Her efforts amplified economic partnerships, promoting equitable trade frameworks that benefited both U.S. and African stakeholders.

Serving as Senior Trade Policy Advisor in the Office of International Transportation and Trade at the U.S. Department of Transportation, Florie Liser shaped policies integrating transportation infrastructure with global trade. Her work focused on streamlining logistics, fostering international agreements, and promoting efficient trade corridors that underpinned economic development worldwide.

Early Foundations in Cooperative Development
As an Associate Fellow at the U.S. Overseas Cooperative Development Council (OCDC), Florie Liser contributed to initiatives empowering cooperatives in international development.
