Wapic Insurance Launches Road Safety Campaign dubbed ‘Road Sense’
Wapic Insurance Plc has launched a three- month safe road-use awareness campaign titled “Road Sense, “as part of its digital transformation plans to raise awareness and engagement for the Wapic brand and its flagship Motor product (MOOV).
Wapic said the campaign was as a result of the successful “Safety-on-Wheels,” event which the company executed in partnership with some notable government and security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) and the Lagos State Transport Management Authority (LASTMA) in February.
Wapic Insurance Managing Director, Yinka Adekoya, said unlike the, “Safety on Wheels,” event which enlightened over 1,000 drivers about safe road-use practices, importance of adherence to road traffic regulations as well as vehicle maintenance cultures, the “Road Sense” campaign was designed to promote vehicular intelligence via Digital Media channels.
She added that as an educational advocacy campaign, “Road Sense,” seeks to change the current road-use culture in Nigeria by calling everyone to responsibility through awareness and knowledge of the different road signs and what they represent for every category of road users, including motorists and commuters as many drivers in Nigeria do not really understand the rules of the road and thus are unable to abide by the rules which leads to bad driving habits and ultimately accidents. The ultimate plan is to educate as well as encourage sensible behaviour and habits on the roads.
“Road Sense Campaign will position Wapic as a responsible, engaging corporate entity and the preferred Insurance brand. The plan is to generate leads through to trivia competition, social media engagement and drive traffic to the Wapic website as well as our other social media platforms.”
“The campaign is a 3-month long safe road-use awareness drive and is a sequel to the highly successful “Safety-on-Wheels” event which was executed in partnership with some notable government and security agencies including the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) and Lagos State Transport Management Authority (LASTMA) in February,” she said.
