Nigeria: Green Africa Airways Slashes Airfares for Lagos-Ibadan Route

Green Africa Airways has revealed its plans to provide discounted airfare options for travelers between Lagos and Ibadan, aiming to mitigate the traffic congestion on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The airline’s service is positioned as a convenient alternative to the ongoing road construction-related traffic on the expressway. In a Twitter post shared by the People Democratic Party, it was announced that the Lagos-based airline has initiated the sale of flight tickets starting at an affordable price of N6,500. This initiative is part of various measures taken by the Oyo State Government to enhance the quality of life for residents in the state and all Nigerians. The statement in the post mentioned, “The airline is set to launch flight operations from Ibadan to Lagos at a rate of just N6,500 (six thousand, five hundred naira only), as a means to alleviate congestion on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

“This initiative is part of a series of actions taken by the Oyo State Government, led by Governor (Seyi) Makinde. Since the beginning of his tenure, the governor has been dedicated to improving the well-being of the state’s residents, as well as all Nigerians.”

Furthermore, the statement highlighted that in conjunction with ongoing infrastructure projects and the advancement of the airport road, the governor has outlined plans to expand the airport as part of his #Omituntun2.0 agenda.

The statement also included, “Additionally, the governor has articulated intentions to enhance the airport’s capacity, building upon the ongoing airport road construction and expansion, as part of his #Omituntun2.0 agenda.”

The statement highlighted that a number of residents from both Ibadan and Lagos have welcomed this initiative as a way to enhance their quality of life and steer clear of the congestion on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
