Ghana: Fidelity Bank names Kwabena Boateng as Deputy MD, Wholesale Banking

Fidelity Bank Ghana has announced the appointment of Mr. Kwabena Boateng as its new Deputy Managing Director for Wholesale Banking, effective from October 1st, 2024.

Bringing over 20 years of extensive banking experience across diverse sectors, Mr. Boateng’s appointment further enhances the bank’s leadership team and its focus on driving growth.

Before taking on this new role, Mr. Boateng was the Divisional Director of Corporate and Institutional Banking at Fidelity Bank, where he played a pivotal role in the strategic expansion of the bank’s corporate banking portfolio.

Since joining Fidelity Bank in 2017, Mr. Boateng has showcased outstanding leadership and delivered remarkable results, all while ensuring the bank’s strategic goals were consistently met.

Kwabena’s career in banking spans over 20 years, including various leadership positions at Standard Chartered Bank, where he served as Executive Director and Head of Commercial Banking, Executive Director and Head of Commercial Clients, and General Manager of SME Banking.

His expertise extends beyond banking, having started his professional career as a civil engineer, successfully managing and supervising major road construction projects across Ghana.

Mr. Boateng holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a BSc in Civil Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

In addition, he completed the Executive Programme at Harvard Kennedy School. His extensive banking experience, combined with his strong leadership and interpersonal skills, positions him to effectively advance the bank’s strategic goals.
