GH: Prudential Bank Supports Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Ghana Foundation

Prudential Bank Limited (PBL) has donated GH¢50,000 and branded souvenirs to the Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Ghana Foundation at the Pediatric Oncology Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. This marks the Bank’s second donation to the Foundation, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to supporting child cancer patients and their families.

Executive Director and Co-founder of the Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Foundation, Ms. Akua Sarpong, gratefully accepted the donation on behalf of the Pediatric Oncology Unit. She highlighted the financial burdens faced by parents and caregivers due to lengthy treatment protocols and the need for constant care, often leading to job losses and the depletion of life savings.

Ms. Sarpong noted that support from organizations like Prudential Bank provides much-needed relief, allowing parents and healthcare staff to focus on delivering essential care without the added stress of financial constraints.

Executive Head of Retail and Commercial Banking at Prudential Bank, Mr. Ebow Quayson, expressed appreciation to the Foundation for bringing the needs of the Oncology Unit to the Bank’s attention. He emphasized that such donations are part of the Bank’s efforts to give back to the communities that have supported its growth over the years.

During the visit, the PBL team toured the Day Care Unit at the Pediatric Oncology Center, gaining a deeper understanding of the unit’s operations and identifying potential areas for further support.
