Energia Limited appoints Oladimeji Bashorun as new Chief Executive Officer

Energia Limited, a leading independent oil and gas company in Nigeria, has appointed Oladimeji Bashorun as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately.

The appointment follows the exit of the previous CEO, Chidi Egonu, and marks a seamless internal leadership transition for the company.

Bashorun, who previously served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Energia, brings over two decades of extensive experience in the oil and gas industry to the role. He has held key technical and leadership positions at Shell Petroleum Development Company and Sahara Upstream before joining Energia, where he played a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, asset management, and long-term strategic growth.

Commenting on the appointment, George Osahon, Chairman of Energia Limited, expressed strong confidence in Bashorun’s capabilities.
“Oladimeji Bashorun has demonstrated exceptional leadership and deep industry expertise during his time as Chief Operating Officer,” Osahon said.

“His commitment to operational excellence and strategic growth has been instrumental to Energia’s progress. The Board is confident that under his leadership as the Chief Executive Officer, the Company will continue to strengthen its position as a key player in the industry, while delivering sustained value to its stakeholders.”

Bashorun welcomed the opportunity to lead the company into its next phase of development.

Under Bashorun’s leadership, Energia plans to maintain a sharp focus on strengthening operational performance, exploring strategic growth opportunities, and contributing to Nigeria’s energy security. The company will also continue its emphasis on environmental stewardship and community development initiatives.

The appointment has been widely viewed as a strategic move to sustain momentum in a competitive sector, leveraging Bashorun’s proven track record in operational leadership and industry knowledge.
