Ghana: Herbert Krapa named ECG’s new board chairman

President Nana Akufo-Addo has appointed Deputy Energy Minister, Herbert Krapa, as the new Board Chair of the Electricity Company Ghana (ECG).

Mr. Krapa assumes this role following the resignation of Keli Gadzekpo on Tuesday, March 26, citing personal reasons.

Herbert Krapa is tasked with leading the ECG Board in addressing the recent power outages in the country.

The ECG has faced mounting pressure due to the resurgence of dumsor, the term commonly used to describe the crippling power outages.

Despite Energy Minister Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s denial of dumsor’s return, Ghanaians are urging the government to implement a timetable to help them better manage their lives.
