Ghana: Yara Ghana Supports National Farmers’ Day with GHS 25,000 Donation
Yara Ghana Limited, a leading crop nutrition solutions company, has once again shown its unwavering support for the farming community by donating GHS 25,000 to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture for the National Farmers’ Day celebration. This contribution is part of the company’s ongoing support for National Farmers’ Day events across various farming districts in Ghana.
Since commencing operations in 2007, Yara Ghana has consistently supported these celebrations, providing both cash and crop nutrition solutions to honor farmers. This year’s donation underscores the company’s long-standing commitment to recognizing and rewarding the hard work of farmers, who play a critical role in strengthening the economy and ensuring food security in Ghana.
Country Manager of Yara Ghana Limited, Theresa Randolph, highlighted the company’s dedication to empowering farmers nationwide. “As a company focused on supporting farmers, we recognize the essential role they play in the country’s progress. Any initiative aimed at appreciating and rewarding farmers is one we are proud to support,” said Randolph.
Beyond financial contributions, Yara Ghana is deeply involved in enhancing farmers’ productivity by providing fertilizers, practical knowledge, and research-driven solutions tailored to Ghanaian agricultural conditions. The company recently introduced YaraVita CropLiftBio, a new foliar fertilizer designed to improve crop nutrition and support sustainable agricultural practices.
Yara Ghana also invests heavily in capacity-building initiatives, offering hands-on training and organizing crop clinics to bridge knowledge gaps and empower farmers. The company collaborates closely with farmer-based organizations to ensure that farmers have access to resources, technical support, and the latest advancements in agricultural technology.
Rooted in a vision of long-term sustainability, Yara Ghana aims to balance productivity with environmental responsibility, promoting practices that ensure the resilience of the country’s agricultural sector for future generations. In 2023, the company strengthened its connections with retailers by recognizing and awarding 198 retailers through the YaraConnect Loyalty Programme.
