FirstBank Ghana expands presence with two new Accra branches

FirstBank Ghana has strengthened its presence in the capital with the official opening of two new branches in Dzorwulu and the North Industrial Area, as part of its strategic push to bring accessible banking services closer to customers and support thriving commercial communities.

The Dzorwulu branch is situated adjacent to Allied Oil Fuel Filling Station along the Olusegun Obasanjo Highway, while the North Industrial Area branch is located next to Star Oil Filling Station on Dadeban Road. Both locations were carefully selected to serve high-potential business districts hosting a vibrant mix of small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs), retailers, wholesalers, and individual customers.

The new branches offer a full range of retail and business banking services, including account opening, loans and advances, digital banking solutions, remittance services, and convenient collection points for utilities, school fees, and government-related payments.

Speaking at the opening, Victor Yaw Asante, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank Ghana, described the expansion as a deliberate move to deepen financial inclusion and fuel local economic growth.

“The opening of our Dzorwulu and North Industrial Area branches reflects FirstBank’s commitment to supporting businesses that drive local economic progress,” Mr. Asante said. “These communities are home to dynamic SMEs, retailers, and entrepreneurs, and we are here to partner with them through tailored financial solutions that promote sustainability and long-term success.”

He added: “At FirstBank, we are committed to delivering the ultimate gold standard of value and excellence. These new branches bring us even closer to our customers, enabling us to better understand their needs and support their financial aspirations.”

Osahon Ogieva, Deputy Managing Director of FirstBank Ghana, emphasized the customer-centric design of the new facilities and the continued importance of physical presence alongside digital innovation.

“These branches have been intentionally designed with the customer in mind,” Mr. Ogieva said. “From SMEs seeking working capital to retailers and individuals requiring efficient everyday banking, our teams are ready to deliver seamless, personalized service backed by robust digital platforms.”

He further noted: “While digital banking remains a cornerstone of our strategy, we recognise that physical branches play a vital role in building trust, providing advisory support, and fostering strong relationships—particularly for SMEs and retailers who value hands-on engagement.”

FirstBank Ghana stated that the new branches reinforce its long-standing commitment to community development, financial empowerment, and economic transformation across the country. By strategically expanding its network in key commercial zones, the bank continues to position itself as a reliable partner for both individuals and businesses.
