Johnvents unveils rice brand for West Africa

Johnvents Group has entered the rice market with its first shipment of premium-quality Johnvents Riz to Senegal and The Gambia, reinforcing food security in West Africa.

Sourced from Pakistan, a leading global rice exporter, this move aligns with the company’s mission to nourish Africa and beyond by connecting markets to reliable, sustainable supply chains.

The delivery marks a significant step in Johnvents’ expansion into food distribution. Sanjay Puhorit, Head of Business at Johnvents DMCC, stated, “We’re thrilled to introduce Johnvents Riz, starting in Senegal and The Gambia, with plans to reach more African nations soon. Our global expertise and regional insights ensure high-quality food reaches those who need it most.”

This milestone supports Johnvents’ broader strategy to scale its trading, FMCG, commodities export, retail, and agro-processing sectors across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas. Group Managing Director John Alamu emphasized, “This shipment reflects our commitment to improving food access and building resilient supply chains linking Africa globally. As an African business, we aim to lead with integrity and nourish lives.”

Johnvents is also investing in local rice production in Nigeria to enhance food self-sufficiency, combining local sourcing, advanced manufacturing, and sustainable practices. With operations in six countries and a growing portfolio, the company is poised to transform agricultural trade and food systems worldwide, fostering economic growth and social impact.
