Nasim Devji, Group CEO & Managing Director of Diamond Trust Bank emerge as InstinctBusiness CEO of the Week

A seasoned banking executive, an accountant, and an excellent strategic businesswoman, Nasim Devji, the Group CEO & Managing Director of Diamond Trust Bank (DTB), a commercial banking conglomerate, with headquarters in Nairobi and banking subsidiaries in Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda has become this week’s InstinctBusiness CEO of the week.

Nasim joined the DTB Group in 1996 following which she was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Trust Bank in East Africa in 2001. She is known for her visionary leadership style, characterized by strategic foresight, innovation, and a strong commitment to delivering value for stakeholders. She sets a clear direction for the organization, inspiring her team to achieve excellence and drive sustainable growth.

Her exceptional contributions to the financial services industry have earned her well-deserved accolades, including ‘Leading African Woman in Business of the Year’ at the 2010 Africa Investor Investment and Business Leader Awards, ‘CEO of the Year’ award from the Capital Markets Authority during the Capital Markets Awards (2011 & 2014), and ‘Chief Executive of the Year in Banking’ during the Banking Awards (2011 and 2013).

She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, a Fellow of the Kenya Institute of Bankers, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors (Kenya) and an Associate of the Institute of Taxation (United Kingdom). Nasim is a Director of DTB Tanzania, DTB Uganda, DTB Burundi, Jubilee Insurance Burundi and Diamond Trust Bancassurance Intermediary Agency Limited. She has previously served on the Board of the Nairobi Securities Exchange Limited and as a member of the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation.
