Walt Bruns appointed CFO and executive director of Sasol

Sasol has announced the appointment of Walt Bruns as its new Chief Financial Officer and Executive director, effective 1 September 2024. Walt currently serves as the CFO for Sasol Southern Africa, overseeing the company’s Chemicals and Energy divisions.

Having been a part of the group for fifteen years, he has occupied many high-level roles, such as CFO of Sasol’s worldwide chemical division for more than three years. Before he joined Sasol, he was employed by Deloitte in both the US and South Africa.

Simon Baloyi, Sasol president and CEO, congratulated Walt on his appointment, saying: “I am proud that we were able to draw from our internal talent pool for this appointment, which will contribute towards maintaining continuity as we pursue our strategic ambitions.”

Walt is a certified CA(SA) and holds a BCom degree from the University of Stellenbosch and postgraduate diplomas from the University of Cape Town.

Current CFO Hanré Rossouw will step down from his role on 31 August 2024.
