Zipline hits 700,000 deliveries in medical drone system
Zipline, a global leader in drone delivery, has achieved a remarkable milestone of 700,000 autonomous deliveries worldwide, with Ghana proudly hosting the largest drone medical supply system on the planet.
The announcement came during a media engagement at the Anum Distribution Centre in Labolabo, Asuogyaman District, Eastern Region, led by Mr. Roger S. Frimpong, Head of Business Operations at Zipline Ghana.
Mr. Frimpong revealed that in just six years of operation, Zipline has delivered over eight million individual medical products across Ghana, including over 17 million vaccine doses, over 30,000 units of blood, and thousands of essential medicines to health facilities nationwide.
“Ghana can be proud to host the world’s largest drone delivery system,” he said, highlighting the company’s round-the-clock service—delivering day, night, and during emergencies. He outlined plans for deeper integration with the Ministry of Health, aiming to create a seamless synergy between trucks and drones to enhance health outcomes.
