Aquaterra Energy secures Nigeria oil well intervention contract

Aquaterra Energy has secured a major contract to supply a turnkey well access package to Intrepid Energy Limited (IEL), aimed at optimizing intervention operations across multiple mature oil wells in Nigeria.

The contract encompasses a comprehensive seabed-to-surface intervention system, including a subsea tree, surface intervention equipment, and Aquaterra’s cutting-edge TRT tieback tooling. This system enables production bore and annular access, supported by a lightweight well pressure control system and an ISO 13628-7 qualified open-water intervention riser with an integrated tensioning system.

Beyond equipment supply, Aquaterra Energy will also provide offshore engineering support throughout the project, ensuring smooth operations and enhanced efficiency.

A key highlight of the project is Aquaterra’s 7-3/8” lightweight well access solution, specifically designed for deployment from jack-ups and lift boats. This innovative approach provides a cost-effective and operationally efficient alternative to floating vessels, significantly reducing intervention costs while maintaining high safety and performance standards.
