Olaniyi Soyinka joins Airtel as new Reg. HR Business Partner

Olaniyi Soyinka has been appointed Regional Human Resources Business Partner at Airtel Nigeria, marking a significant step in his career within the telecommunications and banking sectors.

Soyinka announced the move on his official LinkedIn page, expressing enthusiasm for the new role. “I’m pleased to share that in August, I joined Airtel Nigeria as Regional Human Resources Business Partner. I’m excited about the opportunity to partner with business leaders, drive people strategies, and contribute to the continued success of the organization,” he stated.

In his new position, Soyinka partners with business leaders to align people strategies with organisational objectives, workforce priorities and performance goals.

His responsibilities include driving employee engagement initiatives, leading talent retention strategies with a focus on new hires, high-potential employees and critical talent, and managing attrition through data-driven interventions. He also champions Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), supports succession planning for key roles, and partners with leaders on performance management and capability development.

Before joining Airtel Nigeria, Soyinka served as Senior Human Resources Business Partner at Ecobank Nigeria, where he built strong relationships with managers, supported onboarding and offboarding processes, managed employee relations, and contributed to manpower planning, learning and development, and wellbeing strategies.

Earlier in his career, he held the dual role of Acting HR Business Partner and DSA Team Lead at Polaris Bank Ltd., overseeing policy development, team leadership, recruitment, coaching and sales support for the Direct Sales Unit. He began his professional journey as a Relationship Manager at Skye Bank Plc., where he focused on client relationship management, product sales and account growth.

With a strong foundation in both banking and human resources, Soyinka brings extensive experience in talent management, employee engagement, performance systems and strategic people partnership. His appointment at Airtel Nigeria positions him to contribute to the company’s people agenda as it continues to strengthen its position in Nigeria’s competitive telecommunications market.
