George Odenyo becomes ATC Kenya new CEO

America Tower Corporation Kenya (ATC) has announced the appointment of George Odenyo as its new CEO, effective January 2024. He previously held the role of CFO at the tower operator.

Commenting on his appointment, George described his appointment as a key personal milestone.

‘This appointment is the realisation of the mission I have always had to handle more in the organisation. It is transformational for my personal growth,” he said.

George explained that he has always been deliberate in his moves towards becoming CEO which started as far back as the beginning of 2020 when he joined the organisation as CFO. This included surrounding himself with like-minded people who would inspire him in his journey.

“I am grateful to a mentorship programme within ATC which propelled me in my rise up the corporate ladder. I also invested in my personal development through the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard,” he added.

A statement from the company expressed confidence in George’s upcoming leadership.

“With George at the helm, ATC Kenya is poised to achieve new heights and make significant strides in the realm of sustainable telecommunications,” the company affirmed.

George’s primary focus as CEO will be to cultivate a culture of growth and collaboration among the Kenyan team.

“The task of the leadership team is to find a balance between ensuring staff are sufficiently challenged in the roles they have and giving them the right amount of support that allows them to feel capacitated and energised to deliver,” he said.
