Ghana: 250 Graduates from the Fifth Cohort of the Sinapi Aba Women Mentorship Program

Approximately 250 participants have successfully graduated from the ‘Sinapa Aba Women Mentorship’ program after completing a comprehensive six-month training in Tamale. This marks the fifth cohort since the program’s inception, equipping participants with essential skills in financial literacy, leadership, customer service, marketing, and business planning.

Although it is titled the “Women Mentorship Program,” this fifth cohort included full participation from 17 men. This gender-inclusive initiative highlights Sinapi Aba’s commitment to promoting gender equality in business. Women entrepreneurs, especially those from underserved communities, frequently face limited opportunities for formal education and professional development.

Therefore, the mentorship program provided participants with a platform to not only learn but also network with other business owners, creating a community of support and shared knowledge.

Participants of the training gained critical insights into financial management, such as budgeting, pricing strategies, and securing loans for business expansion.

Additionally, the program delved into marketing techniques, enabling female participants to better position their products and services in competitive markets.

During the graduation ceremony in Tamale, Joyce Owusu-Dabo, Chief Programs Officer of Sinapi Aba, expressed her enthusiasm, noting that the program has already positively impacted the businesses of the participants.

According to her, there have been reports suggesting significant improvement in the business operations of participants. These are in the areas of enhanced customer satisfaction, streamlined financial processes for better profitability., increase in staff strength, confidence in business and social management.

She further mentioned that going forward, Sinapi Aba intends to continue fostering a strong network of entrepreneurs who can mentor others, creating a ripple effect of empowerment and growth.
