Ghana: SIC Insurance Plc appoints Hollistar Duah-Yentumi as Managing Director

The Board of Directors of SIC Insurance Plc. has announced the appointment of Hollistar Duah-Yentumi (Esq.) as its new Managing Director.

Hollistar Duah-Yentumi is a legal professional and journalist.

She holds a degree in Law and Political Science from the University of Ghana, a Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law, and a Master of Laws (LL. M.) from the University of Maryland’s Francis King Carey School of Law.

Hollistar, a graduate of the University of Ghana Primary School and Achimota School, additionally holds a Diploma in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

She is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Superior Court of Ghana, as well as a member of the Ghana Bar Association, bringing with her 20 years of professional legal practice.

With a wealth of business insights across diverse industries, she has garnered extensive experience working with major multinational corporations.

Her expertise extends across the Global Energy Sector, Minerals and Mining Sector, Oil and Gas, Banking and Finance, Infrastructure Development, and Corporate Law and governance.

Hollistar previously served as the Executive Secretary of the Divestiture Implementation Committee (DIC), where she played a key role in spearheading the creation of a comprehensive nationwide assets register for all defunct state-owned enterprises marked for divestiture.

She played a pivotal role in the merger of the former Divestiture Implementation Committee (DIC) and the State Enterprises Commission, resulting in the establishment of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA).

Before her role at DIC, she served as a Partner in the Legal, HR, and Corporate Advisory group at MORGANBAUERS Y.E.S.

In the earlier stages of her career, she held the position of Legal and Compliance Director at GO Green Canada Inc, leading the Tax, Environment, and Natural Resources Divisions of the firm.

Additionally, she gained experience working with Zenith Bank Ghana Ltd, United Bank of Africa (UBA), and Prime Attorneys Ltd, a private legal firm.

Presently, Hollistar holds positions on the Board of DUYENT Global Inc. and Royal Ashanti Holdings Inc. She recently served as the General Manager of Operations at the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA).
