Keabetswe Pheko-Moshagane, Managing Director of Absa Bank Botswana named InstinctBusiness Magazine CEO of the week

InstinctBusiness Magazine has announced the Managing Director of Absa Bank Botswana, Keabetswe Pheko-Moshagane as its CEO of the Week.

Keabetswe joined the Bank in 2010, and is a seasoned executive with over 12 years of experience in the banking and telecommunications industry. She was previously the Head of Core Banking Applications, after which she held the position of the Head of Technology, overseeing bank projects, programmes, and initiatives to ensure the Bank operates in a stable environment. Before being appointed the Managing Director in April 2019, Keabetswe held the Bank’s Chief Operations Officer (COO) position. She was also the Chairperson of the Bankers Association of Botswana until April 2021.

Keabetswe as a leader has been marked by significant achievements and milestones. Under her leadership, the bank has undergone strategic transformations and growth, embracing digital innovation and enhancing its product offerings to better serve its customers.

In addition, the bank was recently recognised as the “Best Digital Bank, Botswana 2023” by Global Brands Magazine (GBM), the award is a testament to the Bank’s dedication to innovation, exceptional service, and the delivery of a robust banking system within the country.

Keabetswe is academically distinguished, holding an MBA from Mancosa and the Absa Leadership Academy program, conducted in conjunction with the prestigious IMD Business School in Switzerland. Keabetswe also recently completed a programme in Positive Leadership and Transformation with IE University, Spain. Before joining the Bank, she consulted for various companies and industries in South Africa.
