Kenya: Absa pledges Ksh. 75 Million sponsorship for the 2024 Magical Kenya Open

Absa Bank has announced its sponsorship of the upcoming 2024 Magical Kenya Open (MKO) tournament with a contribution of KES 75 million, securing its position as the tournament’s official presenting partner.

As part of the sponsorship, KES 55 million will be allocated to support the Local Organizing Committee through Kenya Open Golf Limited, guaranteeing the delivery of another world-class tournament.

The remaining KES 20 million will be directed towards enhancing the overall tournament experience, aiming to create memorable moments for attendees and followers alike. Through this sponsorship, Absa Bank reaffirms its dedication to promoting national development through sports tourism, while also nurturing talent and fostering enterprise.

The Magical Kenya Open stands as a premier global stage, drawing golfers worldwide to showcase their talents and compete for victory at the esteemed Muthaiga Golf Club. Scheduled from February 22 to 25, this prestigious tournament offers thrilling competition and unmatched excitement for both players and spectators alike on one of the region’s most prestigious and challenging courses.

This year’s edition will transcend golf, featuring the inaugural golf for the disabled in Africa with 10 players from around the world, alongside a charity dinner for sports development. Additionally, a business conference is slated, bringing together government officials, business leaders, and investors, aiming to attract investment to Kenya, including participation from DP World.

This year’s edition promises to be an exhilarating showcase of talent, drawing over 140 elite golfers from around the globe, including 9 Kenyan professionals (Pros), three regional pros, and four amateurs competing for the enticing $2 million prize purse. It’s also a moment to foster genuine connections with Kenyan golf enthusiasts and fans of the sport.
