The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) has engaged Sidian Bank in high-level discussions to strengthen support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the country.

The strategic meeting, led by KNCCI President Dr. Eric Rutto, focused on expanding access to finance, enhancing competitiveness and driving greater financial inclusion for Kenyan businesses. The Chamber delegation also included Nyanza Region Director Mr. Ken Onditi, MBS, Head of Policy, Research and Advocacy Mr. Vincent Kimosop, and representatives from Membership Services.

They were received by Sidian Bank Managing Director Mr. John Okulo, Chief Commercial Officer Mr. David Nyamu, and Ms. Mary Thiongo, Manager for Marketing, PR and Communications.

Discussions covered a wide range of potential collaboration areas, including SME and MSME financing, trade and export support, financial literacy and capacity building, women and youth entrepreneurship, digital transformation and payment solutions, as well as sector-specific initiatives such as opportunities in the Blue Economy.

The two organisations also explored Sidian Bank’s possible participation in the upcoming Africa Commerce and Industry Summit (ACIS) 2026. Under the Innovation and Thought Leadership pillars of the summit, the bank would have an opportunity to showcase financial innovation and digital solutions while contributing to broader conversations on the future of African business.

In addition, the meeting addressed the renewal of Sidian Bank’s membership with KNCCI. Renewed membership is expected to deepen institutional engagement, enabling the bank to connect more effectively with Chamber members, participate in programmes and access expanded networking and market-linkage opportunities.

Both parties underscored their shared commitment to expanding access to finance, fostering innovation and creating pathways for Kenyan enterprises to grow and reach new markets.
