
ZB Bank Appoints Arthur Matsaudza as new CEO
The Board of Directors of ZB Bank has announced the appointment of Arthur Matsaudza as the bank’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 October 2026.
Matsaudza is a seasoned banking and financial services executive with more than 17 years of experience spanning banking, fintech, and telecommunications across African markets. He brings a distinctive combination of executive leadership, commercial acumen, and deep technology expertise to the role.
Prior to joining ZB Bank, Matsaudza served as Managing Director of Omari (also referred to as Omin), Old Mutual’s fintech business, which he founded and scaled from concept to market launch. Under his leadership, the platform delivered mobile money, digital wallets, payments, digital banking, lending, insurtech, and investech solutions, with strong customer acquisition and multi-market growth ambitions across Africa.
He previously held the position of Group Executive for Digital and Data at Old Mutual, where he led digital and data transformation strategies across 12 African markets spanning East Africa, SADC, and West Africa.

Earlier in his career, Matsaudza played a pivotal role in Steward Bank’s digital transformation. As Chief Technology Officer and later as Divisional Executive for Digital Banking (Chief Digital Officer), he helped shift the institution from a traditional bank to a digital-first organisation.
Key initiatives under his leadership included the launch of robotic process automation, Zimbabwe’s first customer service chatbot (Batsi), digital credit platforms, WhatsApp and Facebook banking, and QR code payment solutions that significantly expanded digital adoption, particularly among micro and SME customers.
Matsaudza also held senior roles in the telecommunications sector, including Head of Mobile Financial Services at Telecel Zimbabwe, where he oversaw mobile money and related services and drove the convergence of mobile network operations, mobile money, and banking capabilities.
