StanChart launches Full Digital Banking on Mobile

Standard Charted bank has launched the new Standard Chartered Mobile (SC Mobile which allows customers of the bank to open accounts and enjoy all bank services on their mobile phones.

Speaking at the launch which took place at the Labadi Beach Hotel on Friday, February 22,2019,Chief Executive of Standard Charted Bank Ghana Limited, Mansa Nettey said the bank is bringing banking to clients that will enable them to live their lives whiles banking on the go with the new App .

She told Instinct Business that the roll out of the new Standard Chartered Mobile (SC Mobile) is being executed on the creative platforms of UNSTOPABLE. The standard chartered digital bank makes it possible for clients to integrate their banking into their lives making users unstoppable.

“The launch of the full digital banking is a key milestone in our digital transformation journey and underlines our commitment to the socio-economic development of Ghana. Digitisation remains at the heart of our business strategy. Our continuous investment in this regard will significantly advance financial inclusion in the country”.

According to the Ms. Nettey, the launch of the digital bank comes with world class digital capabilities bringing greater convenience to clients enabling them to live their lives and passion whiles banking on the go with Standard charted mobile.

The bank digital services are available by downloading the SC mobile App. New clients can open a bank account and provide all verification documents by uploading to the application and completing the on -boarding process which comes with free debit cards which entitles clients to the bank’s 360 rewards loyalty programme. The debit cards will be delivered to the clients via Ghana post making it a complete digital on-boarding process without clients interfacing with a branch.

She added that, the full digital bank on mobile – Standard Chartered mobile (SC Mobile) will fulfill the Bank’s determination to provide the best digital lifestyle for clients. This has been design with continuous feed back from clients, incorporating innovative technology to allow clients to execute all banking activities from a mobile device.

She continued that the new solution of banking comes with an increased number of billers and is more mobile enabled. Clients can execute all their banking transactions right from their mobile devices.

She stressed that, the bank has digitised 70 clients’ services from being branch –led to the mobile platform.

The standard Chartered Group was formed in 1969 through a meger of two banks , the Standard Charted Bank of South Africa foundered in 18 63 and the chartered bank of India, Australia and china founded in 1853.

Standard Charted Bank Ghana started operating in as bank of British West Africa in Ghana in 1896.

It served as the Central bank in the country until 1953 when the Bank of Gold Coast was set up by the government.
