Barclays Receives Accolades at the Ghana Business Awards 2019

Part of the Absa Group, Barclays Bank Ghana, has been declared as Bank of the Year, while the Managing Director, Mrs Abena Osei-Poku, has been awarded Woman of Excellence of the Year – Private Sector, at the 2019 Ghana Business Awards which was held recently.

Mainly, the awards are in recognition of the bank’s financial and non-financial achievements across a wide range of measures, including business sustainability, operational excellence, innovation and its overall strong performance, which continues to make it a leader in the banking sector.

The Managing Director Mrs. Abena Osei-Poku’s award was also in acknowledgement of her exemplary leadership, which continues to drive high performance not only within Barclays but is also setting standards in corporate Ghana.

Delightedly receiving the awards, Mrs. Abena Osei-Poku said “We are very excited to receive these awards. They demonstrate our track record of consistently creating shared value for our customers, communities and all our stakeholders whiles maintaining operational excellence. These will remain our focus, as we rebrand to Absa early next year.”

The Ghana Business Awards is a prestigious awards programme that recognises and rewards excellence across all sectors in Ghana.

The awards provide a platform to recognise individuals and companies that play a significant role in the growth and development of their business sector.
