Ghana: Prudential Bank supports Lifeline for Childhood Cancer

Prudential Bank Limited (PBL) has contributed GH¢20,000 and a collection of branded items to support the Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Ghana, which serves as the foundation partner for the Korle Bu Pediatric Oncology Unit.

Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Ghana’s mission is to secure funds for the treatment, care, and recovery of children with cancer while advocating for childhood cancer to become a national health priority.

Marketing and Corporate Affairs Department of Prudential bank, Ruth Baafi, representing Prudential Bank Limited, presented the items as a donation aimed at assisting the unit’s activities.

She underscored the bank’s continuing commitment to contributing to commendable causes that benefit the broader community.

The Executive Director and co-founder of the Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Foundation, Akua Sarpong extended her heartfelt appreciation to PBL for their generous support upon receiving the donated items.

She emphasized that a considerable portion of the patients at the center come from disadvantaged backgrounds, highlighting the importance of providing them with assistance to access high-quality healthcare.

The Pediatric Oncology Nurse overseeing the unit, Faustina Amoako praised the bank for their generous gesture. She also encouraged compassionate individuals, philanthropic organizations, and corporate entities to consider supporting the Pediatric Oncology Unit of the hospital in various ways, including the procurement of monitors, medications, and funding for expansion projects.

The Oncology Day Care Unit at Korle Bu Hospital is essential in delivering care to children who are facing cancer.
