Ghana: Green Energy support National Farmers’ Day with organic fertilizer

Green Energy Ghana, the producers of Green Organic Fertilizers, have contributed to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) by donating 320 bags of fertilizer valued at GH¢32,000.

The donation of 320 bags of fertilizer aims to support both national and regional celebrations. Mark Hakvoork, Managing Director of Green Energy Ghana, expressed that the gesture is driven by the goal of ensuring farmers have access to quality fertilizer.

“Our products are of good quality and contribute to high-yield crops,” he said.

He also urged farmers to choose their products, emphasizing that they are domestically produced and cost-effective.

Receiving the donation on MoFA’s behalf, Deputy Minister in charge of Livestock Mohammed Hardi Tufeiru, commended Green Energy Ghana for its contribution toward the upcoming National Farmers’ Day

Encouraging farmers to opt for organic fertilizers, he highlighted the challenge faced by many peasant and smallholder farmers who struggle with the affordability of inorganic fertilizers, resulting in notably low productivity.

The upcoming Farmer’s Day celebration will spotlight the significance of sustainable agricultural practices, acknowledge the invaluable contributions of farmers, and reflect on positive achievements in the agricultural sector.
