Nigeria: TVC appoints Victoria Ajayi as new GMD/CEO

Former Deputy Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Victoria Ajayi, has been appointed to assume leadership as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Television Continental (TVC) in May 2024, succeeding Andrew Hanlon, who served for seven years.

Ajayi, who joined TVC in 2013 as Head of Finance and later became Deputy Chief Financial Officer in 2017, has been appointed as the GMD/CEO. She will lead TVC’s over 550 staff across its channels TVC News, TVC Entertainment, Max FM Lagos and Abuja, and Adaba FM Akure serving 24 million audiences daily.

Ajayi is a seasoned business executive, a chartered accountant, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and a member of the Institute of Directors and The Society for Corporate Governance, Nigeria.

She has finance career experience of over 15 years across sectors like banking, construction and now media with proven business leadership, board advisory, financial management and business strategy skills.

As a prominent figure in the finance industry, she serves as an elected Global Council Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), is the founder of the ACCA Women Network Nigeria, and is a co-founder of an electronic gift card company. Additionally, she holds a board membership position at a fintech platform.

Ajayi has a BSc.(Hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, a Master’s in Financial Management from Liverpool John Moores University, U.K. and an MBA from IESE Business School.

She is also an alumnus of executive programmes at Cambridge Judge Business School & Harvard Business School.

The new TVC CEO is a distinguished advocate for Women’s Leadership, acknowledged as one of the Top 50 Women in Accounting globally and Top 100 Career Women in Nigeria. She has mentored numerous career women and has been a featured speaker at various finance and women leadership events.
