Kenya: Mariam Abdullahi appointed to the NCBA Board

NCBA Group has announced the appointment of Mariam Abdullahi to its board, effective from 1st August 2024. She will serve as an Independent Non-Executive Director of NCBA Group PLC.

Mariam Abdullahi brings over 20 years of experience in IT and Telecommunications. She has held leadership positions in Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Business Transformation across the United States, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Her impressive career includes roles at multinational companies such as Ford Motor Company Group, Microsoft, Oberthur Technologies, Brightpoint, Zain, Emirates Telecommunications (du), and SAP.

Mariam Abdullahi is the Director for Android Platform Partnerships at Google, overseeing regions including Africa, the Middle East, Turkey, Israel, and the CIS. In this role, she is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to expand the adoption of the Android ecosystem and Google Services.

In addition to her work at Google, Mariam serves on several boards, including ICEA LION Group, the GSMA Africa Advisory Board, various NGOs, and several start-ups. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Computer Science and Business Management from Brunel University, England.
