8 New Kwara Procurement Officers Attain Full APPON Membership

The Kwara State Public Procurement Agency has recorded another milestone in its drive to build a highly skilled and professional workforce.

The Association of Public Procurement Practitioners of Nigeria (APPON) inducted eight additional procurement officers of the Agency during its National Conference in Enugu State.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Agency, Mr Raheem Abdulbaki, disclosed this at a capacity-building workshop for procurement officers in Ilorin.

He said the induction brings the total number of APPON-certified officers in the Agency to 16.

This means all procurement officers in the Agency are now full members of APPON.

He said the development reflects the Kwara State Government’s commitment to building a skilled and professional workforce.

According to him, the government continues to invest in human capital development across the public service.

He added that this will improve professionalism, accountability, and efficiency in public procurement.

Abdulbaki commended the newly inducted officers for their commitment to excellence.

He also praised the Agency’s management and staff for their dedication to service delivery.

The CEO commended the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Abuja, Dr Adebowale Adedokun.

He cited achievements under his leadership, including reported savings of over ₦1 trillion for the Federal Government.

He also noted improvements in procurement efficiency and increased procurement thresholds for goods, works, and services.

Abdulbaki reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

He said the Agency will continue to support reforms that ensure value for money in public procurement.

He added that this aligns with the Kwara State Government’s vision for an efficient and result-oriented public service.
