PwC Global Chairman Bob Moritz re-appointed for second term

PwC announced recently that Bob Moritz has been reappointed for a second term as Chairman of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Network.

His four-year term, which has been ratified by PwC’s network of member firms worldwide, will begin on July 1, 2020.

In announcing the reappointment, Paul Kepple, the PwC Network Governance Board Chairman, said, “Bob has led the PwC Network with a strong sense of purpose and a clear focus on serving the needs of our people, our stakeholders and society at large. I am delighted at the decision to reappoint Bob for a second term and look forward to working with him over the next four years.”

Bob Moritz, whose first term as PwC’s Global Chairman began on July 1, 2016, previously served as the Chairman and Senior Partner of PwC US beginning in 2009. He also served as the US Assurance leader in addition to a variety of leadership and client service roles during his 35 year career with PwC.

PROFILE OF BOB MORITZ

Bob was appointed in 2016, he is the Chairman of the PwC International Network which supports over 276,000 employees in 157 countries. In this capacity, Bob leads a network of PwC firms that serve clients around the globe from multinational companies to start-ups. He is focused on creating a common culture based on quality, ethics, diversity and inclusion and developing a workforce for the future.

He is also actively involved in the World Economic Forum, including serving as a Vanguard CEO for the Partnering Against Corruption Initiative (PACI), the leading business voice on anti-corruption and transparency, a Stewardship Board member for the System Initiative on Shaping the Future of Education, Gender and Work, and a member of the International Business Council, comprised of 120 representative international businesses.

Bob has held a number of leadership roles within PwC, including leading PwC US as its chairman and senior partner for seven years. He also led the US Assurance practice, the New York region and served two terms as the Chairman of the Governing Board for the Center for Audit Quality, a non-partisan and non-profit group dedicated to enhancing investor confidence and public trust in the global capital markets.

He has been with PwC his entire career, joining in 1985 and becoming a partner in 1995. His background is in assurance, primarily serving financial services companies. During his career he spent three years with PwC Japan, where he provided audit and advisory services to numerous European and US-based financial services organisations operating in Japan and across Asia.

Bob is certified as a public accountant by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of CPAs and the New Jersey State Society of CPAs. He currently sits on a number of boards including the Business Roundtable, the Oswego College Foundation, and the Conference Board.
