Nigeria: UAE grants Air Peace direct flight approval to Dubai

Nigeria’s Air Peace Airline has received approval from the UAE government to operate direct flights to and from Dubai.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, announced that the UAE government has granted approval for Air Peace Airline to conduct direct flights to Dubai. Additionally, he explored advancements in aviation technologies at the event, seeking innovations to support his Five Point Agenda for Nigeria’s aviation sector.

Keyamo also revealed that Emirates Airlines, which stopped operations in the country due to its inability to repatriate dollars earned in the country home, also announced its readiness to commence direct flights to Nigeria.

Keyamo, following discussions with airline officials at the recently concluded Dubai Airshow in the UAE, announced the approval for Air Peace Airline to operate direct flights to Dubai, as stated by Odutayo Oluseyi, the Head of Press and Public Affairs in the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

In the statement, Oluseyi highlighted that the minister engaged with the leadership of Air Peace, led by CEO Dana Hatcic, during which discussions included the airline’s interest in establishing a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Nigeria.

Keyamo, as part of his commitment to advancing Nigeria’s aviation sector, explored cutting-edge technologies at the pavilions of global aviation and aerospace industries. The focus of his 5-Point agenda includes enhancing infrastructure and fostering innovation and creativity in civil aviation technologies.
