AfricaOnline Launches New Broadband Satellite Service in Ghana

AfricaOnline, an internet service provider that operates as a subsidiary of Gondwana International Networks (GIN) has launched its new JOLA service, a high-speed broadband satellite service to enhance the communication system and allow faster internet. 

Speaking to business leaders and the media at the launch in Accra, Managing Director for AfricaOnline Ghana, Foster Plender said “We are proud to be the first to launch the Avanti HYLAS4 service in Ghana. Our rigorous testing over the past few months has given us the confidence that our customers will be very satisfied with the quality of service and speeds of up to 35Mbps download”. 

The new satellite application is a portable 75-meter dish that offers 100 per cent coverage of Ghana through multiple spot beams so everyone can access the internet including people in remote areas.   

Mr. Plender indicated that the cost of the Jola broadband application ranges from GHc 300 to GHc 1000, depending on the speed. He also commented on the product’s efficiency and affordability.  

“Our connectivity is the fastest and affordable though satellite connectivity is not cheap, we provide the best stuff, even 10 times more than the other products.”  

 AfricaOnline is a leading African ISP with 17 years’ experience in the ICT Industry, whose direct presence spans across44 African countries.  

The company is partnering with the government for the expansion of the satellite system across the country.
