Airtel names Ayo Elias as Human Resources Director for Nigeria

Telecommunications services provider, Airtel Nigeria has declared the elevation of Ms Adebimpe Ayo Elias, a human resources expert, as its Director of Human Resources and Administration, effective 1st July,2022.

Ms Ayo Elias was moved to her new role from her former position of Head of HR Business Partnering, according to a statement from Airtel Nigeria.

She will now be responsible for driving Airtel Nigeria’s people agenda with a keen focus on ensuring an inspired, happy, and highly engaged workforce.

The HR guru would be expected to perform well based on her more than 25 years of cognate experience garnered across several industries including telecommunications, software and fintech, and human resource consulting.

Ms Ayo Elias started her career at Societe Generale Bank Nigeria Limited where she was Executive Assistant to the GM Human Resource, then moved to Human Edge, MTN, Nokia, Corragio and System Specs Limited where she held several senior HR leadership roles until she joined Airtel in May 2020.

In addition to her wealth of experience, she holds several educational qualifications from accredited institutions globally including an M.Sc. in International Human Resource Management from Cranfield University, Bedfordshire, UK.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria, Mr Surendran Chemmenkotil, while commenting on the development, said Airtel is committed to growing and empowering its internal talent pool as well as reinforcing its drive towards gender diversity, at every level starting with leadership.
