Pensions Alliance appoints Godwin Onoro as its Acting MD

Pension Fund Administrator, one of the Pensions Alliance Limited, announced recently the appointment of the Executive Director of Finance and Operations, Mr Godwin Onoro, as its acting managing director.

A statement signed by the Company Secretary of the PFA, Folasade Modebelu, said he would lead the company, until a new substantive managing director would be announced.

The statement said the erstwhile Managing Director, Mrs Morohunke Bammeke, concluded her term with effect from October 3, 2019.

It stated that the change in leadership would not affect the company’s regular business processes or operations.

PAL assured its stakeholders of its commitment to delivering competitive returns on their retirement savings and good retirement plans.

BRIEF PROFILE OF GODWIN ONORO

Godwin oversees the activities of the Contributions & Collections, Finance, and ICT departments. He is a seasoned Accountant with over 21 years of post-qualification experience which spans through the Financial Services, FMCG & Telecommunication sector.

He began his career in an audit firm, Eyewumi Rone & Co as Audit Trainee. He moved to Nestle Foods Nigeria Plc as Assistant Internal Auditor and rose to the position of Project Accountant. Thereafter, he worked at the then Crystal Bank of Africa as Credit Admin Officer and Resident Inspector. He later joined Guinness Nigeria Plc as Auditor and rose to the position of Audit Team Manager from where he joined Vee Networks Nigeria Limited as Senior Auditor.

Godwin joined Pensions Alliance Limited in October 2005 as Head, Audit & Risk Management. He rose to the position of Head Pensions Administration & Operations and now Executive Director Finance and Operations (CFO).

Godwin has professional experience in both startups (PAL Pensions, Nestle Nigeria Ltd, Vee Networks) and growth organisations (Nestle Nigeria Plc, Guinness and then Crystal Bank), with competencies in Financial, Strategic, Operational and Risk Management.

He holds a B.Sc. in Accounting. He is also an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a dealing clerk of the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
