Women Across the Sub- region honoured at the Instinct Women Awards held in Accra

The maiden edition of the InstinctWomen Awards (IWA) brought together and honoured women  moving and shaking industries across  various sectors in Ghana and beyond; with exceptional leadership and entrepreneurial expertise at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel on Friday,  1st  October 1 2021.

Organized by Africa’s premium B2B events management organization, InstinctWave, IWA rewarded  exceptional women of value and impact in various sectors and industries; to increase Gender Inclusiveness, visibility on women who are positively impacting lives, rewriting the narrative and changing stereotypes.

In his opening remarks, the chief executive officer for InstinctWave, Mr. Akin Naphtal said the birth of the InstinctWomen awards stems from the organization’s belief in the value and empowerment of women. “Women, most times are underestimated, for women to  shatter glass ceilings in their chosen professions   while successfully  managing their homes, shows how  their ability  to multitask and still be successful. My late mother’s life has been an inspiration to me, she had no formal education but run a successful food business for over three decades with over 50 staff.”

“Looking at what women are doing – we see the need to encourage them, through  a platform like this, celebrating all women, where there is no competition just women celebrating each other, both in the formal and informal sector, and tonight as we  kick this off we believe it would grow. He noted.

Mr Akin added that InstinctWave would keep recognising the excellent and exceptional work of women each year through the InstinctWomen Awards.

A host of C-Level Executives and Women controlling the informal sector were conferred with awards- Former Politician and Founder of the Salt and Light Ministries, Rev, Dr.  Joyce Aryee received the Life Time Achievement Award while veteran broadcaster Oheneyere Gifty Anti received the Women Supporting Women Awards for her constant and resilient gender advocacy and mentorship.
