Kenya: Tobias Alando steps in as KAM CEO following Anthony Mwangi’s resignation

Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) Chairperson Jane Karuku has announced the resignation of Anthony Mwangi, who has served as KAM CEO for the past two years. Tobias Alando, the current Chief Operating Officer, will take over as Acting CEO while the Board of Directors begins the search for a new CEO.

During his tenure as CEO, Anthony Mwangi played a pivotal role in advancing KAM’s advocacy efforts, particularly in pursuing the Manufacturing 20by30 Strategy.

Last month, KAM appointed Jane Karuku as the new national Chairperson. Having served as Vice Chairperson since July 2022, Karuku will lead the Board of Directors for the next two years, succeeding Rajan Shah. Shah will remain an ex-officio member of the Board, continuing to provide guidance and support for the Association’s growth.

KAM, the representative organization for Kenya’s manufacturing value-add industries, acts as a critical link between the sector and the government. The Association represents the concerns of its members to authorities, promotes trade and investment, upholds standards, and advocates for policies that create a competitive business environment and reduce the cost of doing business.
