Angola Cables names Samuel Carvalho as TelCables Europe CEO

Angola Cables has appointed Samuel Carvalho, its current Chief Marketing Officer, as the new CEO of its European subsidiary, TelCables Europe. Carvalho will continue to serve as CMO of the Angola Cables Group while taking the helm of the subsidiary, aiming to bolster its role as a pivotal digital bridge in the Atlantic region.

In his new position, Carvalho will focus on positioning TelCables Europe as a neutral accelerator platform for European carriers, content providers, and corporate businesses. The subsidiary will leverage Angola Cables’ extensive subsea cable portfolio, including SACS, MONET, and EllaLink, to offer robust data center-to-data center and cloud-to-cloud connectivity, low-latency IP transit, and a broad range of interconnection services, from physical to hybrid multi-cloud deployments.

This strategy aims to provide direct and diverse routing options to the US, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East, bypassing critical points to ensure enhanced security, redundancy, and flexibility for clients.

Carvalho emphasized the strategic importance of TelCables Europe, stating, “Our operation serves as an integrated platform, delivering scalable connectivity solutions to meet growing market demand. By offering alternative routes for traffic from Africa and the Middle East to Europe and the US, we provide our customers with greater reliability and flexibility.”

His appointment reinforces our commitment to expanding our submarine network presence and solidifying our position as a leader in Atlantic connectivity,” Gama said.

Carvalho’s dual role is expected to strengthen Angola Cables’ global strategy, enhancing TelCables Europe’s position as a key player in providing innovative, high-capacity connectivity solutions across continents. The company aims to meet the rising demand for secure and efficient digital infrastructure in an increasingly connected world.
