MTN Business to work with Jendamark on 5G-enabled manufacturing systems

MTN Business have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Jendamark.

This agreement is focused on showcasing how MTN Business can help Jendamark optimise its processes through 5G-enabled smart manufacturing and ICT technologies.

Jendamark is a global technology company that builds powertrain and catalytic converter assembly systems, as well as power electronics assembly systems for the electric vehicle market.

“Digital transformation has become a global trend across numerous industries and 5G has undoubtedly accelerated this,” said Sudipto Moitra, General Manager for ICT at MTN Business.

“We have invested over R50 billion in modernizing our network for the past five years and this investment has put MTN in a greater position to offer cutting-edge, faster, and seamless connectivity to its customers.”

MTN Business will now work on a proof of concept system that will highlight the practical business benefits of 5G-enabled smart manufacturing and ICT technologies – and show how these can benefit Jendamark’s manufacturing operations.

“Smart manufacturing is increasingly being adopted in South Africa,” said Moitra.

“We are excited to be playing a leading role in this space by using our world-class network and systems to promote the growth and sustainability of our enterprise customers.”

“5G technology is a game changer that will transform manufacturing processes.”
