Duhqa Appoints Dr. Sidney Mwangi as new CEO
Duhqa, the fast-growing B2B tech platform revolutionizing supply chains by connecting manufacturers directly to retailers, has appointed Dr. Sidney Mwangi as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective November 1, 2025. Dr. Mwangi, who has served as Chief Operating Officer for the past two years, succeeds founder Victor Maina, who transitions to Chairman of the Board.
The leadership shift comes at a critical juncture as Duhqa accelerates its expansion into medical drug distribution and deepens its foothold in the health sector. Dr. Mwangi’s promotion follows a six-month transition period during which she shadowed Maina, ensuring continuity while preparing to steer the company into its next growth phase.
A seasoned leader with deep roots in pharmacy, manufacturing, and public sector operations, Dr. Mwangi joined Duhqa four years ago and has been instrumental in scaling its pharmaceutical distribution arm. Under her leadership as COO, the division achieved a 40% revenue increase within two years, establishing Duhqa as a trusted partner for healthcare supply chains across East Africa.

Board members praised her blend of technical expertise in pharmaceuticals, commercial acumen, and a people-centered leadership style.
“Dr. Sidney’s track record at Duhqa, combined with her passion for the health sector, makes her uniquely equipped to lead us into the future,” said Victor Maina, now Chairman. “She brings the right blend of vision, execution, and integrity that our stakeholders value.”
Dr. Mwangi holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Nairobi and is a CPA Section 3 holder from Strathmore University. Her appointment signals Duhqa’s strategic pivot toward health-tech integration, leveraging AI-driven logistics, real-time inventory management, and data analytics to streamline drug access for pharmacies and clinics in underserved regions.
