Bristow infuses N100m for Training 20 NCAT Graduates

As part of its commitment to development and growth of local Nigerian capacity and content, Bristow Helicopters Nigeria Limited announced its recent investment of over N100m towards the training of 20 qualified Nigerian graduates at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria.

According to the Manager, Nigerian Content Development, Bristow, Mr Obafemi Joseph, said the airline had taken a significant step towards its ongoing initiatives and commitment to training and human capacity development in the Nigerian aviation industry.

He said the initiative to train the 20 graduates was an exclusive partnership with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board.

Joseph added that, “The NCAT training is designed to provide necessary aircraft maintenance engineering skills to the trainees at the end of a 90-week rigorous airframe, power plant and abridged avionics course”.

He noted that over 80 graduates were initially selected for the programme through a series of tests as part of the overall selection process.

According to him, 20 candidates emerged on merit following which Bristow has offered full sponsorship of their training at NCAT.

“Bristow is delighted to be part of this initiative as it will assist in developing local human capacity in the Nigerian aviation industry and also help in meeting the identified skill gap within the industry,” he said.

Also speaking, the Managing Director for Bristow, Captain Dapo Oyeleke, said the airline would continue to invest in the training of members 0f staff and also assist in the development of exceptional human capacity to the benefit of the aviation industry in the country and the nation as a whole.
