Heirs Holdings appoints Obinna Ufudo and Sola Yomi-Ajayi as Directors

Heirs Holdings, a leading pan-African investment company, has announced the appointment of two distinguished professionals, Obinna Ufudo and Sola Yomi-Ajayi, as Non-Executive Directors
,a strategic move to bolster its governance and strategic oversight.

The appointments underscore the group’s commitment to integrating deep sectoral expertise and robust corporate governance into its leadership as it continues to expand its investment portfolio across the continent.

Bringing Decades of Expertise
The new directors collectively bring over six decades of high-level experience in finance, energy, governance, and global markets to the Heirs Holdings board.

Sola Yomi-Ajayi is a heavyweight in international financial services and governance, with a career spanning more than 30 years. She is a former Executive Director of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), where she also served as CEO for UBA’s International Business and as Country CEO for UBA America. Her board experience is extensive, including current roles at UBA United Kingdom and the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU). She is also a member of the OECD Blue Dot Network Executive Consultation Group and has previously served on the Sub-Saharan Africa Advisory Committee of the US Export-Import Bank.

Yomi-Ajayi holds an MBA from Robert Gordon University and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (UK). She has further enhanced her executive credentials with certificates in Corporate Governance from the Wharton School and in Leadership from Harvard Business School.

Obinna Ufudo rejoins Heirs Holdings with a formidable reputation for corporate transformation, having previously served as the group’s Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. He is widely recognized for his tenure as President and Group CEO of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria (Transcorp), where he spearheaded a successful turnaround and executed the landmark acquisition of the Ughelli Power Plant. An entrepreneur as well, Ufudo is the Founder and Chairman of Atiat Leasing Limited and Co-Founder and Chairman of LoanBook Limited.

Ufudo’s academic pedigree includes advanced executive qualifications from the Wharton School (AMP), an M.Sc. from the University of Reading as a Chevening Scholar, and an Executive MBA from IESE Business School. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

A Commitment to Africapitalism
In a statement, Heirs Holdings Founder and Group Chairman, Tony O. Elumelu, CFR, welcomed the new appointees, linking their roles to the group’s core philosophy.
